Sunday September 18, 2022- Wednesday November 16, 2022
9 weeks, facilitated online by Catherine Svehla, PhD.
You know that voice. The one that says you’re inadequate, or a phony. The one that isn’t satisfied with your efforts. The one that throws shade on your ideas and dampens your enthusiasms before they even have a chance to sprout.
We all know the inner critic. Everybody has one. This aspect of self arises naturally in childhood. And, it stays there. You, however, can reframe this relationship to support the person you are today.
What if this most intimate relationship was a source of clarity, insight, and productive advice?
Of support rather than sabotage?
Adversary to Ally is a 9 week, online workshop designed to transform your relationship to your inner critic.
We’ll draw on Jung’s active imagination, Hillman’s archetypal psychology, Hal and Sidra Stone’s Voice Dialogues, and gestalt art practice to focus on our most important relationship: the one that we have with our own, beloved, imperfect self.
The Adversary to Ally workshop is part private personal exploration, part group learning (recorded zoom sessions and community forum), and part one on one consults with me (recorded zoom sessions).
You’ll receive information, exercises, and daily practices. Inspiration, one on one mentorship, and group support. Because we’ve all got to evolve, and it’s easier together.
The belief that you’re alone with this voice and your faults is part of the dysfunctional dynamic.
In our 9 weeks together, you’ll name, know, and understand this important inner voice in a new way. You’ll gather insight and tools. You’ll find a new practice, and cultivate the curiosity, humor and perspective necessary to transform this relationship into a more productive and harmonious alliance.
What could be possible and what might you do, if your inner critic was a valued ally?
Registration closes Friday, September 16th. The cost is $1200-$1300. Payments plans are available. If you are in need of this work and the fee is an issue, please email me.
“When the negativity of the Inner critic is finally neutralized, the ideas of the Inner Critic become an important part of your inner support system.”
