The Heroine’s Journey

This is transformation time. Time to re-weave and repair our relationships with each other and the earth. Time to create a society that operates in service to life, in which the true value of everyone and everything is honored.

Many women are hearing the call to step into their power, to heal lingering wounds and contribute their gifts to the cultural renewal we so desperately need. Women are stepping up and speaking out. They are bringing grace, humor, creativity, and courage to a myriad of situations in the public and private sphere.

Some of us are celebrities or will be well-known. Some of us will work closer to home, more quietly, under the radar. Understanding the significance and meaning of the path that you are following or forging is an integral part of your unfolding. No matter the scale, what we do matters.

This is Psyche’s Quest: A Mythic Exploration for Women on the Path to Self

In this 2-day experiential workshop we map the journey together, drawing on the words, ideas, and art of women, and the ancient myth of Eros and Psyche. This old story opens the heart and mind. It’s a powerful catalyst for the imagining that moves a woman forward.

As women, it’s up to us to explore and honor our life experience, to decide how to articulate what we know, feel, and dream.

It’s up to us to determine the meaning of our lives, through deep reflection on our lived experience.

We are the ones who will define our journey and alternatives to the dominant paradigm, and tell a different story.

Are you ready to re-invent the heroine’s journey for our time?

“When we women offer our experience as truth, as human truth, all the maps change.” Ursula K. le Guin

I use the old myths and stories as launching points for this process because stories open up the heart as well as the mind. This makes fresh insight and creative reflection possible.

The workshop also utilizes journal and art work, meditation, and conversation.

The company of other women provides the support many of us crave. I limit the workshop size to a maximum of 18, so your process can be personal and our shared experience unique, because every place, every gathering, and every woman is different.

“A self is made, not given. It is a creative and active process of attending to a life that must be heard, shaped, seen, said aloud into the world, finally enacted and woven into the lives of others.”  Barbara Meyerhoff

What other women say about the workshop experience…

I loved the feeling of being held in a powerful, safe, elevated, female space. It’s useful to have a deeper-than-human-truth type of understanding about what a ‘journey’ looks like for a woman.”  -Amanda Abraham, Joshua Tree CA

“It was really helpful for me to take this idea of our personal story into the context of what’s going on in the broader social/political movements. I’m curious to further explore my own version of the stages of the Heroine’s Journey. It’s a great shape/framework for viewing my life so far and what’s ahead!”  -Erin Telford, Los Angeles CA

“Catherine creates an environment that is both “safe” and challenging. The challenge comes from within each woman because she holds the space for that to happen in such a loving and clear way. Every moment is an invitation and Catherine’s commitment to the magic and mystery of this work stirred a lot in me and helped the group.” Ellen Sagmyr, Bozeman MT

“I felt supported in exploring the myth and my feelings because Catherine held the space so well. Being with a group of women who could share their thoughts and feelings freely was an enlightening experience.”  -Carolyn Millar, Laguna Beach CA

“Any woman wanting to have a greater impact in the world in these uncertain times should give herself the gift of Catherine’s workshop.” Kareen Erbe, Bozeman MT

“This workshop feels like an initiation and necessary reflection, to experience growth, motivation, and gratitude…. a moment to recalibrate and redirect, to feel heard and understood by other women in an important way, without judgment and with support.“  -Marcella Kroll, Los Angeles CA

“This was one of the most useful workshops I’ve ever taken. I could have done it for 3-5 days, honestly. Thank you!”  -Aditi Khorana, Los Angeles CA
